Norah Jones to perform at Oscars

Grammy-award winner Norah Jones, the daughter of late sitar maestro Pandit Ravi Shankar, will perform Everybody Needs a Best Friend from Ted at the Oscars next month.
The song, with music by Walter Murphy and lyrics by Seth MacFarlane, is also nominated for an ‘Original Song’ Oscar. Jones, 33, will be performing at an Oscar show for the first time. “I had such a great time recording this song with Seth and was thrilled to find out that it was nominated for an Oscar.Getting to perform it at such a prestigious event, which my friend is hosting, is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity,” Jones said in a statement.
