The British avant-garde musician is expected to launch new album here in February 2012
Producer, songwriter, orchestral composer, DJ, multi-instrumentalist and cultural spokesman Nitin Sawhney will be performing in India in February 2012. This is big news for Indian music lovers, as it is the first time the versatile and much-lauded musician will be performing here.

While the details of his tour are still coming together, sources say he will go on a five-city excursion to launch his ninth studio album, Last Days Of Meaning.
The British-born musician, who emerged from the Asian Underground scene alongside artists such as Talvin Singh and Asian Dub Foundation, shot to international acclaim in 1999 when his fourth studio album, Beyond Skin, was nominated for the Mercury Prize. Since then, he’s gone on collaborate with and written for a dazzling array of talents, including Sir Paul McCartney, Sting, Brian Eno, Shakira, Taio Cruz, Ellie Goulding, Cirque Du Soleil, The London Symphony Orchestra and even Nelson Mandela. In recent years, Sawhney has been commissioned to write the scores for a number of different projects, including over 40 film, television and theatre productions. Currently, he is working on the score for Deepa Mehta’s Midnight’s Children, which will release in 2012.
