It seems like its the season of college-coming for our celebs. After Shah Rukh Khan paid a visit to Hansraj College, it was the turn of sisters Neeti and Shakti Mohan to return to their alma mater,

Miranda House

, where they performed at the annual college fest. Neeti was the first one to take to the stage and exclaimed at seeing the students, This college is still the hottest, my goodness! She entertained the students with her dance moves and songs like '

Bang Bang

' and '

Mohabbat buri beemari

'.

Neetis songs were interspersed with tales about that particular song and her college memories. After finishing her performance, Neeti called her sister, Shakti on stage. After Shaktis solo performance, the sisters performed together and Shakti danced while Neeti sang '

Gulaabo

'. The alumnae were also honoured by their principal who read out a citation and revealed that Shakti and Neeti were the youngest alumnae to be honoured by the college.

I am open to films: Neeti Mohan

Neeti got emotional after receiving the award and said, I had studied in an all-girls boarding school and when I came to Miranda, it was a big shock for me. There were so many times when I received compliments from girls and sometimes boys, and even got weird looks from guys who I didnt even know. Such incidents made me realise that I am a woman now, and that I am more feminine than I thought I was. Sometimes that made me feel weak, while other times it made me feel very strong. Each time I stepped into the college, I felt very powerful. I felt as if I owned the space. I learnt so much about how to handle myself. This was greeted by loud cheers.

The singer continued, Each time somebody tried to do something in a U-special bus, I wouldnt stop myself from giving that person one tight slap. Thats what my mother and all the teachers here at Miranda taught us. So, to each Mirandian, wherever you are, just give a big death stare to whoever looks at you in the wrong way. I am really affected every time I hear of any incident in Delhi. You should have so much power, wherever you stand, and so much confidence that people should get the message, Dare you look at me like that, teri toh! and then theres no stopping you.

Her sister Shakti, too shared her tales, she said, You all know that we are four sisters, and when we were born, our relatives were not so happy. They were like, Chaar betiyaan huyi hain. Ghar kaise chalega. While I was studying here, I used to have Rs 5 in my wallet when I used to travel from my home to Miranda, but the bus fare was Rs 7. I used to buy a ticket for Rs 5 till Wazirpur Depot, aur agar buswallah pakad leta toh I would say, 'Bas utarne waali hoon. Next stop hai mera.' This happened for two years. I used to feel so out of place. I didnt hang out with my friends. I couldnt speak English and I used to feel like a loser. But the two things that kept me going were dance and studies. I started feeling empowered. Miranda House is the foundation for my career.
