Manoj Muntashir is happy that BJP and Congress used his song, Teri Mitti, for their respective election campaigns

The song Teri Mitti from Kesari continues to win hearts of music aficionados. But it seems to have appealed to the two national parties, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and Congress, as well. The song’s lyricist, Manoj Muntashir, is happy that Congress and BJP used his song, Teri Mitti, for their campaign. While both the parties usually never agree on anything, somehow the song struck the right chord with them
Talking about it, Manoj says, “This song was penned as a tribute to everyone who madly loves this nation.There was absolutely nothing political in it. So I would like to believe that the BJP and Congress are using Teri Mitti to celebrate this nation rather than for individual advantages. Besides that, I am happy that the two parties, who never agreed upon anything, found something to agree upon.”
Several videos went viral on social media that had the song and showcased the two parties. While Congress is reviving the history of sacrifices from Mahatma Gandhi to Rajiv Gandhi, the BJP video sees PM Narendra Modi as the face of the song. “That’s the impact of Bollywood music on democracy,” adds Manoj.
