Kumar Sanu on Lata Mangeshkar: She is no more but her songs will always be with us

Bollywood singer Kumar Sanu who is known to have worked with the legendary singer Lata Mangeshkar, in many hit films like Hum Aapke Hain Kaun, Kachche Dhaage, Yeh Dillagi, Jab Pyaar Kisise Hota Hai, Dushman and many others and have sung chartbusters including Dekho Zara Dekho, Pyar Ko Ho Jane Do, Tujhe Dekha To, O Jaana Na Jaana, Dil Pardesi Ho Gaya and others is devastated by the legend’s demise.

Mangeshkar passed away in Mumbai today, at 8.12 am due to multiple - organ failure.



Taking about her Sanu says, “Lata didi ka chale jana humare Bharat ke liye hi nahi, balki vishwa bhar ke liye ek bahut bada dhakka hai. It is a huge loss for everyone. She is no more but the songs she has sung will always be with us. Not just us, but humare char pushton tak unke gaane hum sunte rahenge. Her songs will be alive for generations to come.”

Sanu says that the music industry has learnt a lot from her. “She has taught our industry a lot of things – how to sing melodies and kis tarah se zindagi ko jeeya jaata hai. Unka chale jana, hamare vishwa ke liye, desh ke liye, and film industry ke liye bahut hi dukhad ghatna hai.”

He adds, “She is from Maharashtra but she is the pride of not just Maharashtra but also of the entire nation, and the world. Through her music she ensured that our country got a huge name worldwide. Unke sangeet ke zariye, unke madhur awaz ke zariye, unhone vishwa mein hamre desh ko ek uuncha darja dilaya tha. I am terribly saddned that she is no more.”
