The singer, who brought Sufi songs to a new level, will be performing at Rajasthan International Folk festival at Jodhpur. Kavita Seth, the renowned singer responsible for bringing Sufi songs to a new level, will be performing at Rajasthan International Folk festival (RIFF) with her group, on October 13th, at Jodhpur. Kavita is excited to be a part of an event which is a mélange of different cultures.
This year she is only Indian artist to perform for the main Event while others include famous foreign bands. The festival performances which will begin from October 13 and go on till October 15 will have performances by international artists, including folk artists and performers from the rural land as well.
"RIFF is very special to me, as it reminds me of my roots”, says Kavita. “I strongly believe that no matter where you go, you should always stay connected to your roots. RIFF will have many wonderful performances. I will be performing my compositions and traditional folk and Sufi Songs with great a fusion with my group and it will be very exciting".Kavita has recently finished composing her one song 'Intezaar' for Sanjay Leela Bhansali's 'My Friend Pinto' with Shamir Tandon. Kavita has also recently recorded 2 compositions live for Coke Studio @ MTV and sung total 7 Live Sufi fusion with 3 Famous Band for Music Ka Tadka, a musical program for the new UTV- Star Channel. One of her recent songs can be heard in Rajshree's Film ‘Jaana Pehchaana’ which is expected to release in October this year.
