Kavita Seth to enthrall music lovers at Gateway of India

Always wanted to witness a live performance at the iconic Gateway of India? Head there this Sunday, March 16, for a divine evening as well-known Bollywood and Sufi singer Kavita Seth takes on the stage at the world renowned Elephanta Festival.

Always wanted to witness a live performance at the iconic Gateway of India? Head there this Sunday, March 16, for a divine evening as well-known Bollywood and Sufi singer Kavita Seth takes on the stage at the world renowned Elephanta Festival.
Organised by the Maharashtra Tourism Development Corporation (MTDC), the concert -- 6 pm onwards -- is open to the public who can enjoy some classic Sufi songs along with her renditions from her private albums by the mesmerising beauty of the Arabian sea.

Having performed across the globe at over 500 venues, Seth is synonymous with Sufi music in this country. Her oeuvre includes Maula in the film Vaada, Mujhe Matt Roko in Gangster, Mora Piya Mose Bolat Nahi in Raajneeti to her claim to fame, Iktara in Wake Up Sid and the popular number Tum Hi Ho Bandhu in Cocktail. She has also rendered her voice to Lagan Laagi Re and Khari Khari, songs from the Hollywood venture Trishna. In fact, her vocals in the Rajasthani folk-based Khari Khari mesmerised one and all through the popular music based TV show, Coke Studio.
She says, “I am thrilled to be performing at the 25th edition of the Elephanta Festival that celebrates our multi-cultural state. This will certainly be a memorable, divine and soul stirring evening."
