Anandji Virji Shah, one half of the famous music director’s duo Kalyanji-Anandji, who have given music for several hit movies of Rajesh Khanna, feels that the ongoing dispute regarding the ownership of Khanna’s home Aashirwad is a family affair. The family of the actor must have the full authority to take any final decision regarding the same. Anandji, who was recently in Delhi to attend a musical evening organized by the Rafi Foundation, adds, “I have heard that few people are saying that Aashirwad must be converted into a museum.
Museum banana koi chhoti baat nahin hai. A very systematic and organized approach is needed to supervise the whole thing. Recently, I inaugurated a place which is fully dedicated to Kishore Kumar memorabilia at his birthplace Khandwa.
Achcha hai agar aisa kuch hota hai Rajesh Khanna
ke liye, lekin uss cheez ko sahi tareeke se anjaam dena bahut zaruri hai. The family should be consulted all along this process. And most importantly, Rajesh
kya chahte thay uss cheez ka bhi poora khayal rakhna padega. His last wishes for Aashirwad must necessarily be fulfilled.”
Anandji added, “Also, I would like to say that if anything like a museum is being constructed out of Aashirwad, the memorablia exhibited should be such that they take his fans through the travails of the megastar’s acting phase.
Jis mein unki baatein ho, safar kaisa raha, kahan kya tha.”
The legendary music director also seemed a bit disheartened with the ongoing skin show formula of the movies. In a question regarding the excessive skin show in Mahesh Bhatt’s
Jism 2 he responded saying, “
Sab gadbad ho gaya hai. Directors kya karein woh bhi wahi de rahe hain jo audience demand kar rahi hai. The trend has changed, the audience has changed and so the demands have changed. Everything has changed with time.”
