Often referred to as the 'Prince of Bhangra', singer Jazzy B loves all that is snazzy. It's not just the colourful backdrops or attire that he adores. He's equally smitten by bling (he wears lot of gold). If his style can be termed regal, his next album titled "Maharajas" certainly reflects that.
"It's just a coincidence. But I love to give everyone a feel of grandeur," said Jazzy, who has so far cut 13 albums.
Ask him about the fixation for gold he says, "This is what I love. Many people say I must be a running a jewellery shop, but I don't care. I like to do what I am comfortable with." Jazzy also has gold teeth. That means he literally flashes a smile.
Sources say Jazzy plans to wear another heavy gold chain, which will depict various stages of Punjabi folk music's evolution. However, he did not say how exactly it would be made.
"The album has melodies from the 80's era. It also remain true to the desi folk, which was created by legendary singer Kuldeep Manak," he said. There's a perfect blend and the album has lyrics from Punjab's Dev Thrikewala and the UK's Jandu Litranwala.
Jazzy always wanted to be an entertainer. "I thank Waheguru for all this. I wanted to enthrall people with my music, my performances and with my style." Jazzy B, originally Jaswinder Singh Bains is a lover of traditional folk, a fan of descriptive lyrics and a student of Punjabi music.
"Punjabis love style and flaunting it," that is how he summed up his journey from Jaswinder to Jazzy.
