Once again the rustic yet soulful tunes of Rajasthan will reverberate in the famous Glastonbury Festival of England.

Once again the rustic yet soulful tunes of Rajasthan will reverberate in the famous Glastonbury Festival of England. Scheduled to be held from June 25 to 30, the fest will have Jaipur's artistes, the Jaipur Kawa Brass Band, performing for the international crowd at the prestigious musical fest.
They will be sharing stage with the legendary Mick Jagger, and his band The Rolling Stones, during the grand finale on June 29 at the Astrolabe Tent.

The Kawa artistes will also present an unusual fusion of rock music with Rajasthani folk, giving the hundreds of music fans thronging the fest, which will be held in the beautiful Vale of Avalon, a feel of how well Rajasthani folk can mix with international sounds.
Heavy metal band Metallica is also scheduled to perform at this festival, considered the largest green field music and performing arts festival in the world.From Jaipur ,the nine member band led by Hameed Khan Kawa will perform twice a day on each day between June 27 and 29. “Each performance which will be of 90 min utes' duration will comprise famous Rajasthani folk songs, semi-classical compositions and also old Bollywood hit numbers. It's a matter of pride to be part of the festival and present our Rajasthani music in front of the world.
We will also do a rendition of Kasariya Balam, and ghoomar dance for international music lovers,“ informs Hameed Khan Kawa, founder and artistic director, Jaipur Kawa Brass Band.
He has also been asked to compose a song where both the Kawa Band and The Rolling Stones will collaborate for a fusion of rock music and Rajasthani folk. And for that, both will rehearse two days before the actual concert. Adds Hameed, "Performing at Glastonbury is nothing new for us, as we have already done that. But to share stage with Mick Jagger and his legendary band would be a fantastic experience for us."
