I plan to turn India on: Norman Cook

Says Fat Boy Slim, who makes his debut performance in the India tour
I plan to turn India on: Norman Cook
Coming to a country where his music has already made its mark, Fat Boy Slim aka Norman Cook is all geared up to make his fans dance to his music. We ask how challenging will it be to make his fans get up and dance? He expresses, “I suppose it is somewhere in the back of my mind.
I have played in countries in the past where dance culture didn’t really connect with their culture (China and the Arab Emirates were an uphill struggle for instance), equally though I’ve been to places like Taiwan where we didn’t think it would translate and everybody went nuts! I’m hoping I will connect but you can take nothing for granted.”
Well, we know for sure that India is ready to party.

Seeing artistes like Pitbull, David Guetta, Akon making India their new destination stage, we wonder what encouraged Norman to visit India.” I’ve been asked a few times over the years but wasn’t convinced that there was a real scene. I didn’t just want to play to expats. It does seem that things have been taking off the past couple of years so I thought it’s time to check you out and turn you on,” he shares.
A household name in electronic dance music, Norman is a Brighton ambassador, musical pioneer and global superstar DJ and for someone whose music has hit the charts, watching him perform live is something everyone is awaiting. According to Norman live music uplifts his energy levels and electronic dance music is his passion. And what transforms on a live stage is an experience he promises his fans won’t forget.
With chartbusters such as Weapon of Choice, Praise You, The Rockafeller Skank, Right Here Right Now, Brimful Of Asha, to name a few. When quizzed on what is he currently working on, he quips, “I’ll probably be retiring from DJ-ing around then so who knows? In the meantime I love playing live and I’m coming your way,” he says and signs off.
