Singer Shahin Badar is known for her work in ‘Yuva’, ‘Taj Mahal’ and others films. Talking about working with AR Rahman, she says, “My travels to India last February 2020 were for the start of my music tour which had to be called off due to the pandemic. Following the same, several collaborations were in the pipeline, including one with the maestro AR Rahman with whom I have worked in ‘Yuva’, in the track ‘Dol Dol’ with Blaze and also recorded alaap chant vocals for the background score of the film ‘Zubeida’.”
Singer-songwriter Shahin, who is known for her work abroad, feels that the Hindi film music has surely evolved.

“There are so many new opportunities these days and such amazing mix of talents that are co-existing.”
She has collaborated on many genres of music. She says, “Ever since I remember, right from the age of three, I used to listen to all sorts of genres of music. Having been brought up in Kuwait in early years and then UK, world music was my initial inspiration later followed by Traditional, Pop, Trip Hop, Hip hop, EDM, Trance. Experimenting with big beats opened up new horizons for me, expanded my work internationally.
Talking about the pandemic she says, "My heart goes out to the people of the world, especially those who lost their loved ones, their jobs and were missing their families. But after every thunderstorm we have seen light. We all have had our learnings from the pandemic. I lost a lot of my loved ones, my relatives, and friends. I devoted a lot of my time to prayers and in doing small charitable things which brought comfort to my heart."
