Harshdeep Kaur sings Gurbani for #CoronaAwareness

Singer Harshdeep Kaur is known for her mellifluous renditions of chartbusters like ‘Katiya Karun’ from ‘Rockstar’; ‘Dilbaro’ from ‘Raazi’; ‘Heer’ from ‘Jab Tak Hai Jaan’; ‘Ik Onkar’ from ‘Rang De Basanti’; ‘Zaalima’ from ‘Raee’s; ‘Nachde Ne Saare’ from ‘Baar Baar Dekho’; ‘Bari Barsi’ from ‘Band Baaja Baaraat’; ‘Kabira’ from ‘Yeh Jawani Hai Deewani’; ‘Jugni ji’ from ‘Cocktail’; and ‘Twist Kamariya’ from ‘Bareilly Ki Barfi’.

The singer recently celebrated her fifth wedding anniversary (they’d gotten married on March 20, 2015) with husband Mankeet Singh and given the critical situation in the country, the singer and her husband stayed at home and celebrated their special day.

Well aware of the global crisis, Harshdeep also put out a video song on social media. In this time of crisis she sang a heartfelt prayer for her audience and fans. The singer received a lot love and appreciation for this work.

Talking about this Harshdeep said, “I recently uploaded a video on social media where I sang a beautiful prayer from the Gurbani with my musician friend Gulraj Singh. My mother used to sing this prayer to me when I was a little girl. This prayer is considered very powerful and is recited when one is feeling scared or vulnerable. I’m receiving a lot of appreciation and blessings from people around the world, for doing this and praying for everyone in these stressful times.”

“Hope this prayer gives strength and positivity to each one of us. It goes like this.. Taati Vaao Na Lagai, PaarBrahm Sarnaai…It means, ‘The hot winds cannot touch me; I am sheltered by the Divine’,” she signs off.
