Get Ready To Meet Disco Dancer on Stage

Harking on the infectious madness of disco nostalgia, and taking one of the biggest box offices successes of the 80’s , Saregama is all set to premiere Disco Dancer – Live on Stage, based on the Mithun Chakraborty film of the same name, that released in 1982. The film had some of the biggest chartbusters of its time by incomparable Bappi Lahiri, and went on to become a cult classic down the ages – a perfect amalgamation of melodrama and music.
The new stage production - Disco Dancer - Live on Stage – is touted to be the biggest Broadway-style musical of a Bollywood film. It promises to be a riot of colour, gloss and glamour, with power-packed performances, elaborately choreographed dance routines, live singing from a talented ensemble cast, stunning costumes, innovative production design and a musical score that sees all the classic songs of Bappi da recreated with a brand new sound. Music maestros Salim- Sulaiman will be reimagining the music for the production, and the play will be presented under the aegis of Carvaan Musicals.

The digital audio player with 5000 preloaded evergreen Hindi songs, stands as a perfect icon for all things retro, and the stage production of Disco Dancer, falls in line with what the brand has come to signify. Within the next year, Carvaan Musicals is all set to launch the stage the adaptation of Karz - the iconic musical blockbuster of Subhash Ghai, as well as premium live musical events are on the anvil.

Disco Dancer, Live on Stage, premieres in Mumbai on 26th March, and has shows till 29th March, and then travels to Delhi between 17th to 19th April, for its first run. Ticket bookings are now open on Bookmyshow.
