The sudden demise of music composer
Wajid Khan left everyone in shock. There have been many singers who worked with him and now feel a void. However, there are some other singers who never got a chance to work with Wajid Khan, he touched their lives in one or the other way. One such singer is Aaman Trikha, who in an exclusive interview with ETimes recollected his memories of Wajid Khan.
The singer started the conversation by expressing his grief and said, “It’s entirely shocking and unbelievable to even come to the terms that our dear Wajid Khan bhai is no more among us. I am absolutely shattered to say the least.”
Later, he narrated some tales showing how Wajid Khan was a man with a heart of gold. He said, “Although I never got the privilege to work with him, there were a lot of instances where I got to meet him. The very first time I met him was during my initial struggle days in 2007 at Empire Studios , Andheri where he was in a recording session. But he took out time to listen to me patiently and heard a couple of songs. He was very warm, friendly and guided me with a few tips to grow into a better playback singer. That was very kind of him.”
He also added, “A couple of years ago, while I was walking by the road after a studio session quite late in the night , I remember him stopping his car and calling out my name; asking how the work was going on, I greeted him and expressed my utmost desire to work with him. He replied with a huge acknowledgement, hugged me and said - “I not only like you as a singer , but also like you very much as a human being. Aur Inshallah, hum log jaldi saath mein kaam karenge!” I can never forget these words of Wajid Khan.”
Further, getting a little sentimental Aaman Trikha ended the conversation with “I would never ever want him to bid us goodbye! Only if this was true ! My sincere prayers from all my heart & soul to God that he bless Wajid bhai’s divine soul to rest in peace. I’m sure he’ll be gracing the heavens with his demeanour and soulful tunes.”
