Exclusive! Ikka: Raftaar and I’m back together after a decade

and Raftaar go a long way back and they have collaborated after a decade. This is what makes this track, a special one.

Angaar

’ was made during the lockdown. Raftaar and I had a misunderstanding of some sort a while back and we were not speaking to each other during that time. But then, baat karne se hi baat hoti hai, and we began talking. During that time I remember telling him that I am making an album and you should be a part of it,” shares Ikka with Bombay Times.

Raftaar and Ikka had begun their journey in music together. Talking about how the collaboration happened, Ikka says, “I told him that in this album I wanted that person to be together with me, with whom I had begun my journey initially. I had my vibes, and I had written down the words for 'Angaar', but I didn’t have the hook word. So I discussed with Raftaar – what should it be? During that time, a lot of people were commenting on the word angaar and that stuck to me. That is when I came up with this as the hook word. It rhymed perfectly with raftaar. So I wrote all that down at night, recorded it and sent it to Raftaar. And the next day he gave me his verse. It was a fab song and usne aag barsa di .'Angaar' mein. We are back together after 10 years and this is the biggest thing about this track.”

Ikka adds, “Since the last 10 years we had not done much music together. We didn’t officially create or release anything new, this is the first one after a decade. We had a great fun time doing the video and didn’t even realise when night turned into day while we shot the song. We have known each other for very long and ek dusre ko trust kartiein hain.”
