Shreya Ghoshal, who thinks that Delhi is just as important as Mumbai for them, shares with TOI what makes her feel nostalgic about Delhi.Excerptsfrom chat:
Delhi makes me nostalgic "If I ever had the chance, I would have loved to stay in Delhi. I have spent 13 years of my life in Rajasthan, and Delhi is very close to its culture. So for me, it’s like home and it’s natural for me to feel at home here.
Even the weather here, extreme dry and then extreme cold, that’s exactly like home. So I feel very nostalgic being here. It reminds me of my home, my childhood and my comfortable life."
Delhi is a cultural hub "Delhi is a very important city for artistes. I think every artiste makes at least two visits here every month. I mean, Mumbai is important in a certain way, but Delhi too has formed its own importance. It’s a complete cultural hub, so colourful and happening in a different way. There is so much happening in Delhi all the time – theatre, art and music too. So it’s good to perform here among people who appreciate all forms of art."
Of monuments and chaat If given a chance, I would really want to explore the monuments in Delhi, like Qutub Minar and the forts. I have been there as a child but now I want to go back and understand the history and significance behind them. We take all of these things for granted in life. And also this
gali in Chandni Chowk where you get
chaat, the Paranthe Wali Gali, I have heard so much about it. I have never gone there but I really want to go and just explore the food because there are just too many options there.
