Model-turned-actor Debi Dutta is turning singer-songwriter in collaboration with DJ Llyod of The Bombay Bounce fame. The singer-songwriter concept has caught on in India and how! Modelturned-actor Debi Dutta, who is in Kolkata now, has turned singer-songwriter and will soon be collaborating with DJ Llyod.
Says Debi, who was recently seen in “Mere Brother Ki Dulhan” with
Imran Khan and had earlier worked with
Ranbir Kapoor in “Rocket Singh: Salesman of the Year”, “I’ve always been writing and it’s a passion for me.
Recently, I met up with DJ Lloyd of The Bombay Bounce fame. He has collaborated exclusively with
Nicole Scherzinger of Pussycat Dolls,
Britney Spears and
Sonu Nigam. I had penned songs and when I met DJ Llyod, we hit upon the idea of coming up with an album. While some reputed singers in the
country will lend their voice to a few numbers, I too will sing some compositions. The album, as yet, is untitled.”
Meanwhile, Debi has also finished shooting for “Lethal Commission”. Claimed to be the “first Hollywood movie to have an all-Indian cast”, the film is directed by Noor. “I am playing the female lead in the movie. It also has Arfeen Khan, who was recently seen in “MBKD” where he played Katrina’s brother. The film should be releasing next year.”
Debi was also in the news for doing Ken Ghosh’s next film. Contract-bound not to talk about it, she admits that shooting is yet to begin. What about Bengali movies? “I am in Kolkata now but haven’t signed on anything,” she signs off.
