In the last seven years of her career as a singer-songwriter
Jasleen Royal has given us many melodious songs in both the film and non-film music space.
She is known for her melodious numbers in 'Gully Boy', 'Kesari' , ‘Hichki’, ‘Phillauri’, ‘
Dear Zindagi
’, ‘Shivaay’, ‘Baar Baar Dekho’ and others.
And the petite singer is pretty excited about her latest single, ‘
Sang Rahiyo
’. The lilting melody of Jasleen’s composition, pairs perfectly with Neeraj Rajawat’s simple, relatable lyrics. Singer
Ujjwal Kashyap
’s rendition is applaud-worthy as he delivers the nuances effortlessly. But what really takes the song to another level is the beautiful chemistry that Jasleen shares with her “dear friend”
Ranveer Allahbadia
in the music video.
Talking about her song to Bombay Times, Jasleen says, “It is a really special song for me because it is very different song from all my other songs. It talks about love and long-distance relationships, actually any relationship. It’s about staying together through the ups and downs and I find the lyrics to be very beautiful, it says ‘Bawre kuch khayalo mein, bachkane sawalon mein. You want to be with the person who you are uninhibited with. You can ask him the dumbest of questions, you can laugh with him, be yourself and you will never be judged. That is what the song is about. When you find true love you are yourself, you are not afraid of being yourself, of sounding stupid or mad. You are yourself one hundred per cent with the special someone. This is what this song is about.”
Jasleen adds, “’Sang Rahiyo’ is also about growing together in love. It is about all the things you want to do in life.
