According to reports, he passed away after a two-year battle with Parkinson’s and Alzheimer’s diseases. The

music director's 86-year-old father had been hospitalised since the last three months.
It has also been reported in the media, that the composer's mother and sister were present with him at the hospital. The bereaved family performed his last rites in the suburbs of
Amboli
. With social distancing and lockdown in place at the moment in the city, only a few family members were allowed to be present during the funeral.
