Known for his collaborative works in hits like 'Dus Bahane 2.0', 'Slow Motion', 'Swag Se Swagat', 'Main Hoon Hero Tera', 'Bol Do Na Zara' and many more, music producer, composer, arranger and singer
Meghdeep Bose
is all for
remakes
and recreations of old yesteryear chartbusters.
“Remakes aren't bad at all provided they have an original vision of the old number. I have produced remakes of songs like 'Tumhe Apna Banane Ki' , 'Suno Gaur Se' and I've made sure to give them an original sound," he tells us.
While
Bollywood
has been criticised incessantly over time for creating remakes of old Hindi numbers and even some international songs, there are some in the industry like Meghdeep who feel there is nothing wrong with a remake and support the idea of it. He quips, "Remakes need to be done right musically, the song’s soul shouldn't be disturbed.”
He believes that in this process the original creator of the tune or melody should always be given the rightful accreditation. "In spite of it being a remake, it should still have a new rendition to ensure that it is purposeful to make a remake of the song or else it just as good as a copied number," he explains.
Meghdeep is currently working on some exciting projects in the UK and he is also working on the music for the film 'Saniya that has been composed by
Amaal Mallik and directed by
Amol Gupte
.
He has also collaborated with music director
Sneha Khanwalkar in her upcoming film.
