Pt Debojyoti Bose has returned to composing music for television. "It’s been over one year since I composed for television. The name of the serial is "Ek Mutho Asha". I usually write the lyrics of my own songs. But, this is the first time that I have composed a song, the lyrics of which have been penned by Priyo Chattopadhyay. As for the director of the serial, I must add that I have done a lot of work with him.
His name is Abhijit Das Gupta. I have worked with him in serials like "Pratighat", "Probaho", "Protibimba" and "Probahini"."
On Saturday night, Bose recorded the title track with Subhomita. "Last year, Subhomita even won an award for my title track of "Probahini". It’s good to return to composing for serials with Subhomita again. However, there is a problem with title tracks. Most composers are miffed with the fact that channels don’t run the whole title track of a serial a week after its launch. Seven days after the launch of a serial, the channels only air the catchline of the title track. They make sure that only the line that has the name of the serial is aired. This is a pity and many composers like me are disturbed with this trend. Money is not everything when we are composing title tracks for serials. It’s a wastage of our efforts," Bose says.
Are channels listening?
