Astitva’s Delhi anthem to play for capital’s tableau
The Delhi tableau this year on Republic Day will focus on projecting Delhi as the culture capital of India. While the tableau moves on Rajpath, it will be accompanied by the Delhi anthem titled Salamat Rahe, which has been composed by Delhi-based band Astitva.
Zamaan, the band’s guitarist, told us, “It’s an honour to be chosen to play for the tableau. The CM (Sheila Dikshit) really liked the Delhi anthem which we had composed last September, and after that, we were brought on board for this.”
Zamaan said that they won’t be seen standing on the tableau, but they are happy that their 65-second track will be playing.

About the song, he said, “The track is a fusion of Indian classical, rock and Sufi music. Basically, we wanted to say that Delhi lends itself to every genre of music and no particular song or genre defines the city.”
