Canadian band Arcade Fire reveals near-death experience in an interview with a British radio stationInternationally renowned indie rock band Arcade Fire, who played their biggest ever gig in the United Kingdom at London's Hyde Park last week, had anecdotes to share about a certain other gig that they played in Europe. In an interview on British airwaves recently, this Canadian band revealed that they almost escaped death when they played right in the middle of a thunderstorm in Paris last year.
"We got clobbered in Paris last summer. It was insane. It just happened really sudden. I mean, you know, it's happened to many bands but it was the first time for us, where it just came in sideways and suddenly, and literally just everything stops right now, the band members revealed during a live interview with a British radio station. "Two inches of water on the stage and we were like playing through it, and everyone thought they were going to die from electrical shocks," the audience on the radio show get to hear this band confesses, the relief at nothing going wrong during that show in Paris palpable in their voices. Arcade Fire consists of consists of the husband and wife duo of Win Butler and Regine Chassagne, along with musicians Will Butler, Richard Reed Parry, Tim Kingsbury, Jeremy Gara, and Sarah Neufeld. This band came to prominence in 2004 with their debut album titled Funeral. How very poetic we say!
