Anushka forms a new band

It was not very long ago that she was a part of a music band and then things fell apart for this member of Viva.
So, Delhi girl Anushka Manchanda decided to take a break and do her own thing, which was to establish herself as a playback singer. ���I was waiting for the right time before taking the plunge,��� she says, adding, ���Rather, I should say the right time was waiting for me.I didn���t want to wake up one morning and set up a band, as it was important for me to be known as credible singer before taking this step.���
The band besides Anushka includes Abhijit Nalani, Shiraz Bhattacharya, Johan Pais and Pozy Dhar. ���The five of us have played as part of separate bands,��� she says. And what���s Shkabang all about? ���We will play essentially English stuff ��� electronic and pop,��� she says. At present they���re preparing for their debut show in Mumbai.
And will we see her performing in the city soon? ���Oh yes, we will hold a show here too. In fact, my friends in Delhi have already been calling me for a gig here. This is my city and I���ll definitely play here soon,��� she says.
