On the occasion of
Sri Krishna Janamashtami
, the
Bhakti
Kala Kshetra, the cultural wing of ISKCON, is organising the
biggest virtual Radha Krishna Utsav
. According to the management, the programme is organised in such a way that all the Radha Krisha devotees from across the world can enjoy the festival online.
Describing Jansmashtami as a festival that marks the victory of good over evil, actress-danseuse-MP Hema Malini says, “I have been presenting Krishna Leelas in the form of dancing on Janmashtami every year, but this time the Bhakti Kala Kshetra will be presenting the utsav virtually from August 8 to 12. It will have many talented artistes presenting their art in this festival. On the last day, our Radha Ras Bihari Nritya Natika will be presented virtually.”
Bhajan Samraat Anup Jalota adds, "Since this utsav will not be happening at the temple this year, I extend my humble invitation to all of you to enjoy this festival from your homes. I will be performing bhajans from home." Pandit
Ronu Majumdar
has been associated with Bhakti Kala Kshetra since the 80s. “I am happy and look forward to doing my seva for the Global Virtual Radha Krishna Utsav 2020. I will be presenting my raag and bhajans of Banke Bihari,” he states.
Dr Surdas from Bhaktikala Kshetra, says, “The grand festival of
Krishna Janmashtami is celebrated all over the country to commemorate the birth of Krishna, who is believed to be the eighth incarnation of Lord Vishnu. We organise the festival for hundreds and thousands of devotees across India every year, however the celebration will be virtual this time. We seek the blessing of Lord Krishna to help us in these tough times.”
He adds, “Though we will not have physical celebration, we are happy to reach millions of people through our virtual celebration. Like every year, we have a good line-up of entertainment programmes from dance, singing to instrumental music of flute.”
