Anoushka to perform in Chennai

Talented musician Anoushka Shankar will perform in Chennai as part of her latest world music album Traveller, which will tour other cities in India as well
If buzz in musical circles is anything to go by, Pt Ravi Shankar's daughter, sitar exponent Anoushka Shankar, is well on her way to becoming just as great as her legendary dad. And her latest offering, say experts, stands testament to just this fact.
The yummy mummy who gave birth to a bundle of joy, Zubin Shankar Wright, in February this year, is poised to go on a tour with her music, to commemorate the international release of her world music album, Traveller. The tour will also see her performing extensively in a host of European venues.
The album itself is said to be beautiful meld of Spanish and Indian influences, tracing the journey of gypsies from Rajasthan, as they made their way to Spain, and is only naturally a meeting point of the rich musical traditions of the two nations.
The concert in Chennai will be held on January 20, 2012 at the Kamaraj Memorial Hall.
