Amaal Mallik has found himself in the middle of a controversy after music duo Sachet–Parampara publicly accused him of making “false” claims about the origins of the
Kabir Singh track “Bekhayali.”
Shared on Reddit, a viral video from an event shows Amaal being approached by a reporter for his reaction. The moment the question was raised, his team intervened, saying, “No, no, no…” But Amaal simply smiled and offered a calm, minimal response: “All the best.”
How the Bekhayali dispute began
The controversy started after Amaal stated during an interview that Sachet–Parampara had allegedly used his tune as a reference for “Bekhayali,” even claiming he had shared it with them over WhatsApp. His comments quickly triggered a counter-response from the music duo.
In a new video, Sachet–Parampara denied his remarks and even shared screenshots of their chat history. According to them, Amaal had only congratulated them, appreciated their look, and praised the song, nothing more. They stated, “Every melody, every arrangement, every lyric was done in those sessions. It is a completely original Sachet–Parampara composition.”
The duo has maintained that the song was created entirely in their studio time, without reference to any pre-existing tune from Amaal.
Legal action on the table
The matter intensified when Sachet–Parampara demanded a public apology, asserting that Amaal was the one who “brought the matter into the public eye” through his interview. They warned that if he fails to apologise, they are prepared to take legal action.
They also implied that the situation could have been avoided if the composer had not publicly linked their song to his work.
As of now, Amaal and his team have not released any official statement beyond the brief “All the best.”
