After creating news for writing and composing music with Grammy Award winning British singer and Massive Attack’s frontwoman Imogen Heap, music composer duo, Vishal-Shekar, have landed themselves in a controversy over a fight with ‘Kajra Re’ singer Alisha Chinai.According to sources, the composer duo approached Alisha to sing a song for their new movie, but when Alisha heard the price being offered to her, she asked the duo to “pay her what she deserves or f*** off”.
When contacted, Vishal first refused, saying ,“That never happened”. Later he said, “She has added a whole new fictional spin to the events. We did offer her a song, but she sent a list of demands to sing that song, so we just said ‘No, thanks!’”.
Vishal even wrote on his online page – “She’s a terrible singer with a lovely voice (ALWAYS electronically corrected). And now, she’s completely mad, apparently. Poor thing.” (sic). When asked if the duo will ever work with Alisha again, with whom they recorded the popular song “Tinka Tinka”, Vishal said, “She is so senior to us and she’s got a beautiful voice. I’d definitely work with her, if she finds some peace, but right now, she needs help. I mean she’s possibly in need of medical help. I feel nothing but the deepest pity for her. God bless her with peace.” Though Alisha remained unavailable for comments, Her fans are taking her side online. Atika Sirohi, 25, said, “Well done Alisha. My respect for her has increased after what she has done. Most singers never get the credit they deserve!”
Sankalp Ahuja, 22, said, “All the songs that Alisha has sung have been super hits. How can anyone call her a terrible singer? Producers pay hefty prices to actors and often give them a share in the profit, but when it comes to singers – because of whom they earn a lot – these producers treat them like slaves.” Ganesh, 31, said, “Everybody has the right to demand to money, Alisha did the same. What’s wrong in that?”
