Times Of India reviewMovie: Whistle
Music Director:Joshua SridharRating: 3
The fun surrounding
Whistle begins with its music album, the cover of which is in the shape of a whistle. The title song
Whistle Odi, sung by Prashant Raj, is a rather short one, we can assume it is something that is used through the film.
Tamil singers Haricharan and Ramya team up for the catchy and rebellious number
Oora Mandhi.
The remix of this number by DJ Chetan pushes this already catchy number to another level.
The melody driven
Pala Pala sung, again, by Haricharan and Ramya, penned by lyricist
Kaviraj, is bound to be a favourite among those who love a bit of romance on their music list.
Singer Tippu pitches in for the album’s slow track
Aaru Ruthu.
The music has heavy western influences, so much so that an ardent listener will feel a sense of deja vu while listening to some of the riffs. However, even if the director did depend on inspirations the songs have been extremely well adapted to suit the local audience.
