At seven songs and 28-odd minutes of running time, the R... Rajkumar soundtrack has a pulsing beat running through, frenetic in its pace yet leisurely enough for you to hum along or dance to.
Starting out with Mika and Kalpana Patwari on Gandi Baat, one sees Mika bring in his characteristic roguish swagger with Kalpana Patowary as the female voice, dishing it out in a voice reminiscent in some parts of Hema Sardesai.
1x1 polls
The composition itself is catchy enough to stay put on charts with lyrics and programming getting top marks. Saree Ke Fall Sa has Nakash Aziz and Antara Mitra belt it out confidently.
WIth a decidedly desi touch, it is a solid companion to the first track on any playlist. Arijit Singh and Palak Muchhal come next on Dhoka Dhadi. It’s a happy song that charts the discovery of feelings of falling in love for the first time. As Arijit yodels and soulfully voices the words, it’s difficult to not fall in love with the track.
Mat Maari, sung by Kunal Ganjawala and Sunidhi Chauhan is a situational track that tries a little too hard to be comical. Kunal tries his best to perhaps channel his inner
Kishore Kumar with all the natkhat touches. It works in parts and not as a whole. The lyrics are kinda disappointing. Kaddu Katega, sung by Antara Mitra, brings the flavour one expects voice-wise from a Mamta Sharma with a nasal twist.
Another zany composition, it, however, sounds like it was plucked out of the 90s. Then, for some inexplicable reason, there’s a Film Version of Gandi Baat, this one sung by Nakash Aziz and Ritu Pathak. And finally a Saree Ke Fall Sa remix by Domestik Dew. Any Pritam album these days, comes with expectations. And while this album delivers for the most part, we’ve heard better stuff from him.
