Film: Nedunjalai
Music: AR Rahman, Think Music
Rating: ***
Director Krishna seems to have a knack of extracting good tunes. If his
Sillunu Oru Kadhal had superb music by AR Rahman, his
Nedunjalai — with music by C Sathya — has a couple of great tunes, especially the uplifting
Injathea…. Sung by Roopkumar Rathod, Madhusree and Yazin, this catchy number — which starts off a tad routine — bursts into several musical elements that make it a treat.
Unfortunately, the same cannot be said of other tunes.
Ivan Yaaro…, again sung by Madhushree, is quite routine, musically. And the singer’s Tamil rendition annoys you after a while. While the album’s
Nandooruthu… by Palaniammal and Chinna is fast-paced and cater to the masses,
Thamirabarani… has a chorus that doesn’t quite fit in with the scheme of things.
Vaigai Nathi… by Sathya and Bavani is a melodious offering that’s melancholic in nature. Elizabeth Malini and Dheeraj
Kher’s Kadal Thandi… is quite bizarre. Though, both might appeal if seen with visuals.
