Album: Sui Dhaaga-Made In IndiaGenre: BollywoodHelmed by
Sharat Katariya, 'Sui Dhaaga - Made In India', features
Varun Dhawan and
Anushka Sharma in the lead roles. The magic of the composer-singer-lyricist trio combination, comprising Anu Malik,
Papon and Varun Grover, is at work once more with this album.
The first track 'Chaav Laga', reminds you of the melodious 'Moh Moh Ke Dhage' ('Dum Laga Ke Haisha', 2015) and wins you over right from Ronkini Gupta’s meticulous alaap. She delivers the nuances of all the notes expertly. The likeable breeziness of this romantic ditty will tug at your heartstrings. Varun Grover take a bow — it’s not every day that one gets to feel so much love in a song; ‘Dekh lihaaj ki char diwari, phandhli tere ek ishare, Preet ki chadar choti maili, humne usme pair pasari…’ With this pleasant track, the composer proves that an orchestra of violins is not always required for a love song.
With the next song, 'Khatar Patar', the lyricist expertly explains all that the film is about in just a few minutes. The composition sees a lot of traditional instruments along with a melodious orchestra. Anu Malik creates music that reflects the folkish sounds of the heartlands where the movie is set. The peppy beats and Papon’s rendition makes it worth a hear.
The next track 'Tu Hi Aham' is aced by Ronkini’s rendition. The title song 'Sui Dhaga' is a poignant take with a contemporary soundscape, sung by Divya Kumar.
Sab Badhiya Hai brings
Kunal Ganjawala and
Sukhwinder Singh together. This is one peppy track, with prominent folk dance beats sitting at the heart of the soundscape.
If both lyrics and melody is your thing, then don’t miss this album.
