'Parched' revolves around four women who wage a war against the patriarchal society and embark on a journey of self-discovery and freedom. Since the movie is set against the backdrop of Rajasthan, the music is in sync with it. Swanand Kirkires lyrics and Hitesh Soniks music capture the mood so well that you can visualise the tracks even if you havent watched the movie.
The first song in the album, 'Mai Ri Mai' sung by Neeti Mohan and Harshdeep Kaur, celebrates the silent resilience of women and the many roles that they play.

Its a lilting melody, reminiscent of a lullaby, thanks to Neeti and Harshdeeps soft, mellow voices. Kalpana Patowary, Alamgir Khan, Swanand Kirkire Nichani and Hitesh Soniks 'Bhookamp' is a typical nautanki number. The catchy rhythm and foot-tapping beats prompt you to get up and dance. Kalpana lends it the much-needed oomph and sex appeal.

Neeti Mohan renders 'Kachhuva', a folksy song, with the right attitude and proves that she is a versatile singer who can attempt all kinds of genres. 'Baisaa' by Gazi Khan Barna is a traditional Rajasthani track. If you close your eyes and listen to it, you actually feel as if you are sitting around a fire on the golden sand of Rajasthan with local artistes enthralling you with their performance.
The final track, 'Hichki', by Channan Khan and Gazi Khan Barna fuses traditional lyrics with contemporary beats. The result is a groovy, fusion, lounge number. 'Parcheds soundtrack does ample justice to its story and captures the four protagonists emotions and journey vividly.
