Music review: 'MS Dhoni: The Untold Story'
Movie: 'MS Dhoni- The Untold Story'
Label: T-Series
Rating: 3
Ever since brothers Amaal Mallik and Armaan Malik forayed into
The opening interlude of the first song, 'Besabriyaan', which is about believing in oneself and pursuing ones dreams, is pleasant to the ears. The use of guitar and bass guitar is beautiful and Manoj Muntashirs lyrics capture the protagonists emotions perfectly.
'Kaun Tujhe', sung by Palak Muchhal, is a slow, mellow number that describes the emotions of a young girl madly in love. Muntashirs lyrics take precedence over the music. Sample this: Main tujhse hi chup chup kar teri aankhein padhti hoon. The words stay with you long after the song is over.
'Jab Tak' is again a romantic track, only this time, its the male lead professing his love. Armaan lends it his typical nuances and uplifts the passionate track. This is the shortest song of the album.
The use of guitars is dominant in 'Phir Kabhi', sung by Arijit Singh, but the track itself fails to make an impact and also ends quiet abruptly. 'Parwah Nahi', rendered by
The next song, 'Jab Tak' (Redux), is peppier as compared to the earlier version but lacks soul. The final number, 'Padhoge Likhoge', sung by Ananya Nanda and Adithyan A Prithviraj, is reminiscent of typical South dance tracks, thanks to the liberal use of shehnai and dhol. The lyrics bust the age-old myth of how youngsters who study are nawabs and have a secure life while those who dont are considered kharab. The catchy beats and rhythm prompt you to get up and dance.
On the whole, the album has a mixed bag of tracks, some of which make quite an impression while others are nothing to write home about..
