Shankar’s mega-budget science fiction drama,'2.0', starring Rajinikanth, Akshay Kumar and Amy Jackson in the lead is a sequel to the 2010 movie 'Robot' ('Enthiran'). The movie, which will be released in 14 languages worldwide, has only three tracks and is also touted to be among Shankar’s shortest films.

While the Tamil lyrics are penned by Madhan Karky and Na Muthukumar, the Hindi tracks have been written by Abbas Tyrewala. With this album, the Mozart of Madras AR Rahman will be collaborating with Shankar for the 12th time.

'Nanhi Si Jaan' begins beautifully with the mesmerising voice of Suzanne D’Mello and has Kailash Kher breathe
life into it.

Armaan Malik and Shashaa Tirupati nail the next, 'Mechanical Sundariye'. With lyrics like, ‘Sun toh mechanical sundariye, Tere hi current se main jaaga priye, Dil mein utargayi data jaise, Hey my digital soniye, Chu loon tere siliconic gaal kabhi, Firewall jaise rokhe bal kabhi, Wi-Fi se Duniya ki sair karein, Hoon super-conductor main’, this one is a romantic number, that the digital generation of today, just cannot ignore.

Rap artiste Blaaze owns 'Rakshassi', the last (but not the least) track of the album, along with Kailash and Nakash Aziz.
The soundtrack is the perfect bouquet — comprising a slow, motivating track, a romantic number and a contemporary rap. The music, the arrangements, the production value is par excellence and it’s Rahman at his best.
