Film: Alone
Music: Jeet Gannguli, Mithoon, Ankit Tiwari, Raghav Sachar, T-Series
Rating: ***
Horror thriller Alone has a soundtrack that’s big on romance and erotica than eeriness and chills. While the film has two Bipashas on screen, the soundtrack has four music directors, who’ve composed one song each. Opening track Katra Katra has Ankit Tiwari doing the twin jobs of singing and composing.

Abhendra Kumar Upadhyay’s lyrics are sensual. Although Ankit sounds dreamy enough, Prakriti Kakkar’s delivery is more slow than tantalising. Awaara is a romantic Sufi track about the madness of love.

Mithoon writes and composes it in his signature style that just about grows on you. Altamash Faridi and Saim Bhatt’s vocals get repetitive in the middle but pick up towards the end. Chand Aasmano Se Laapata is a melancholic love song. Jeet Gannguli’s music and Sandeep Nath’s words are emotionally touching but vocalist Bhaven Dhanak sounds too much like Udit Narayan for today’s listener to enjoy it fully. Item song Touch My Body is a recreation of Dr Zeus’ addictive pop song. While Raghav Sachar has tinkered with it enough for some current garnishing, singer Aditi Singh Sharma makes it her own with a child-woman sensuality in her voice. While the tune and chorus remain the same, Kumaar has changed the lyrics for a filmi feel.
