One tends to expect a lot out of a music director like Mano Murthy, who has previously been responsible for having brought freshness into the music of Kannada films. And, his latest offering, for the film Ale, has in fact been promoted as Mano Murthy’s musical. Unfortunately, apart from the title song — Ale Ale, none of the other numbers on the seven track album live up to expectations.

Nonetheless, the music director continues to introduce new talent into the field and this time around, it’s in the lyrics department. The songs remain high on lyrical content; so much so that the tunes sound force-fitted to ensure the words are not compromised in anyway.
Kannada industry’s current popular singers Sonu Nigam and Shreya Ghoshal make their presence felt in numbers Manada Havamana. Sonu also pitches in for Athee Athura, while Shreya teams up with yet another Bollywood import — Shaan, for the title track. While Hemanth’s Sorry O Pori and Chinmai’s Manava Kaaduva stay in sync with the theme, Puneeth Rajkumar’s Solu Nangaagodhila might just make it to the popularity charts, briefly.
