Film: Aadalam Boys Chinnatha Dance
Rating: ***
How will an album of a film that revolves around dance be? Full of
josh and
kuthu numbers, right? That's how this one pans out as well. Just listen to the first song
Va Sutti Sutti…, and you'll know what we're talking about. Fast and foot-tapping, it's a perfect start to the album. From then, the mood turns soft with Aagayam…, a romantic number with some interesting background sounds.
With a considerable amount of rap woven it, this is a winner. While Vattipatti… is for the masses from the start till the end,
Kanavil… is a delightful offering by Rita who starts off as a slow number and veers into the fast lane quite admirably. The
Chandu’s Girlfriend track is cute on lyrics but falls short musically as it has a predictable tune. However, the composer more than makes up for it with
Poradalam… in Aalap Raju’s appealing voice. The album ends with tracks like
Sorry Sorry…,
Vazhva Saava… and
Thaga… which should fit in with the proceedings, considering it's a dance-based film. Sachin Jigar works out a decent soundtrack for ABCD.
