Sidharth Siva’s 101 Chodyangal is by no means a musical, and the one song in the movie, Doore Doore, might seem more of a melodious poetry rendering than a song.
One doesn’t find the M K Arjunan magic in the song, which lacks energy and progresses in the same rhythm throughout as in the first minute. However, with minimal background music, Doore Doore serves the purpose of the visuals, the portrayal of the life of the main character, a 10-year-old boy’s life in the span of five minutes.
There is nothing unusual about the song, but P Jayachandran’s voice and lyrics by Shobin Kannandattu make it worth a one-time listen.
