Santoor

maestro Rahul Sharma is set to offer an interesting set to

Indian classical music

aficionados as he takes the stage atUdayswar@Prithvi, a concert that will see him perform an acoustic set on the santoor.
A source says, “The show starts at 7 am. The idea is to offer morning ragas in a pure and organic form. The show will be an intimate baithak. In today’s age of tremendous use of microphones and amplification, having an acoustic santoor recital would be a rejuvenating experience.”

For Rahul Sharma, son of santoor legend Pandit

Shivkumar Sharma

, performing at the

Prithvi Theatre

will be a nostalgic experience. Talking about his 90-minute-recital, the musician says, “I had performed there several years ago with Ustad Zakir Hussain. I’m looking forward to the concert because it will be all about celebrating the morning ragas. Such concerts that start early in the day give us an opportunity to explore and do justice to the morning ragas. I’m glad that due to the absence of the microphones, the audience will get to experience the santoor in its natural tone.”
