Ustad Zakir Hussein and Niladri Kumar performed at NCPA in Mumbai

Mumbai's swish set had descended in their finest clothes and jewellery at the NCPA theater in Mumbai as classical music greats, as two great musicians from the world of classical and fusion music Ustad Zakir Hussain and Pandit Niladri Kumar performed together.

Mumbai's swish set had descended in their finest clothes and jewellery at the NCPA theater in Mumbai as classical music greats, as two great musicians from the world of classical and fusion music Ustad Zakir Hussain and Pandit Niladri Kumar performed together.
The audience was jam-packed, pin drop silence and a great discipline was observed as the maestros started creating music together.

Sitar and zitar maestro Niladri Kumar was completely brilliant, when he played an evening raga Shree, and Ustad Zakir Hussain who is one of the greatest musician in the world, then started his jugalbandi on the tabla with him. They played for an hour and a half, it was a completely different experience as the maestros played with ease and perfection, impressing the audiences.
The second part of the concert was about Dhafer Youssef vocalist, oud player and jazz musician from Tunisia, who performed with Ustadji in the beginning and was later accompanied by Niladri Kumar on the electronic zitar. When the three played together, audiences were so impressed that they went on asking for more and more. The sound, the harmony of the three musicians and the perfect rhythm had audiences listening to them and getting lost in their world.
Ustad Zakir Hussain greeted Niladri Kumar as the future of classical music and welcomed Youssef as someone who was extremely talented and having worked with. For about two hours, it was an evening that transported you to another world as you got curious about the different sounds that the three melodiusly created.
