He’s performed once earlier in Delhi, but actor turned singer Imaad Shah says he had no clue that the evening would be such a sell-out when his band decided to perform in Delhi. Imaad, along with his band The Pulp Society performed this weekend to a crowd of “like-minded music lovers”, and performed continuously for over three hours. Even though there were just a handful of familiar faces, Imaad says that it was a good thing as they wanted people who enjoyed their kind of music to attend the do, as opposed to just about anybody.
He told us, “We all believe in doing a lot of indie music, and it’s those kinds of setups we’ve been performing for in cities like Kolkata, Mumbai, Ahmedabad, etc.” We also saw Raul Chandra, who’s usually spotted at social and fash frat dos with friend and designer Nida Mahmood, and he told us that music and such gigs are his “real thing”. Sandip Soparkar was among the first to arrive, but spent most of his time sitting outdoors. But that was hardly a concern for the band, which played one song after another, without a break because the crowd would just not let them stop.
