'Music in the Park' concert in Delhi

Hundreds of people gathered recently to attend ‘Music in the Park’ concert to listen the jugalbandi of sitar maestro Pt Shiv Kumar Sharma and tabla maestro Ustad Zakir Hussain, which was in memory of Pt. Bhim Sen Joshi.
“Thodi si shakti de dejiye,” was how Pt Shiv Kumar Sharma started the concert, when the mike developed some technical snag. “Mein aap sabko Basant Panchmi ki shub kamnaiyen deta hoon.Aaj thodisi thand ho gayi hai,” he added with a smile.
Pt Shiv Kumar Sharma paid homage to the late Pt Bhim Sen Joshi saying “unhe swargiya nahim kahenge kyonki sangeet kabhi nahin marta, unka sangeet amar hai.” Panditji started the concert with a prayer in raag ‘puriya kalyan’
We spotted designer Amrish Kumar enjoying the concert. When we asked if he regularly attends the classical concerts, he said, “Not much but as much as I can,” he said.
