I like to do covers of legends like Louis Armstrong: Nischay

He writes, he sings and he plays too. Here’s Nischay in a nutshell
I like to do covers of legends like Louis Armstrong: Nischay
When most kids were figuring out their playstations, this one was getting his guitar chords right and teaching himself the piano and drums.
No wonder then, that Nischay Parekh evolved as a musician by the time he was 19. His band, Monkey in Me, formed with like-minded school friends, is already a rage in the city.
Taking off to Berklee College of Music, he has made his mark there too, being placed on the dean’s list of the college.

“Music comes quite naturally to me. The best part is that I write my own lyrics and compose the music for our band,” says Nischay.
Along with chums Shoumik Biswas and Rohit Kapoor, their band Monkey in Me seems to have made a mark in the music scene of the city. And if their recent performances in the city are anything to go by, the kids seem to have hit the mark. “I have heard his music and the kid definitely has talent. He has the makings of a good musician,” says guitarist Amyt Dutta.
The boy has even come up with a band at Berklee College called Orange, the Panda.
Nischay performs soft rock and pop when in a group. He is stylistically different when he performs solo. “I like to do covers of legends like Louis Armstrong as well as contemporary artists like Jason Mraz. However, it is difficult to fit my music broadly in any particular genre,” says Nischay.
Mainly performing alternative and pop music, the boy seems to have a long way to go. Here’s hoping for some great music from the monkey and panda in him in the days to come.
