It was an evening that saw connoisseurs of classical music come together to watch the grand jugalbandi between music maestros Pt Shivkumar Sharma and Pt Hariprasad Chaurasia.
A beautiful solo from Pt Shivku-mar on his santoor with a ‘teen jog’ raag was then followed by Pt Hariprasad Chaurasia’s rendition of the seasonal raag ‘Malhar’ on the flute, which was a treat for the ears.

Before playing his second raag, the flautist said, “Yeh doosri raag ab aap log hi bathaoge” and then took away the spotlight as Pt Vijay Ghate on the tabla teased and probed Chaurasia into following his beats of the ‘Hamsadhvani’ raag, which was a delight to watch.
The jugalbandi between both the artistes in ‘kamas’ raag was an intense and gripping spectacle, which started off on a mellow note and ended with a bang.
