We know that Debasree Roy has many facets to her personality. But on Sunday, she proved that apart from being an actor, a member of Parliament, a dancer, she is also a great mentor, as students from her dance academy put up brilliant performances to mark 17 years of the institution.
The event was attended by veteran actor
Soumitra Chatterjee, who was felicitated. He also recited a number of poems, including “Banglar Mukh” by Jibanananda Das and kept the audience enthralled.
Next, it was Rupankar’s turn to entertain as he belted out popular hits, including, “Megher Palok” from “Natobar Not Out”.
Students from the academy presented dances from across India. Artist Jogen Chowdhury dropped in at the do. Also spotted at the event was yesteryear actor Devika Mukherjee.
