Jazz lovers in the city headed to the concert held at the open air Taramati auditorium where German youth group Bujazzo performed in collaboration with renowned musicians — Ramamani, T A S Mani, Ramesh Shotham and Karthik Subramanium — from Bengaluru . The juxtaposition of jazz with classical vocals and traditional sounds proved to be quite a treat for Hyderabadi ears.
Performing original compositions like “Sweet Seventeen”, “Bangalore”, “Silence” as well as their rendition of Louis Banks’ “Life in a City” had the audience spellbound as the unbelievably sweet voice of Ramamani added to mystical vibe of the night. The group’s saxophone and trumpet players deserve a special mention for their fantastic job of matching the Indian classical notes and so do the vocalists.
The jugalbandis between the Indian musicians, the Bujazzo group and the audience was brilliant and everyone present were seen participating and enjoying themselves. Ending their seven-city tour with Hyderabad, the Bujazzo group managed to charm the city with this spectacular finale.
