Being part of a legacy doesn’t come easy, because along with it comes a huge bundle of expectations. It is no different for 23-year-old singer Azaan Khan, grandson of Ustad Vilayat Khan and son of Ustad Shujaat Khan, who is entering the world of Sufi music.
At an event organized by Shujaat Khan in the city recently, Azaan admitted that performing in front of his family is a “nerve-wracking” experience.“When you know that there are so many people watching you, not just the family, but your seniors and legends in the field, getting nervous is just an understatement,” he said. To support the young singer, we saw Javed Akhtar, Ustad Amjad Ali Khan, Amaan and Ayaan, among others, in attendance.
