Well, cities in Gujarat, including Ahmedabad
, are warming up to international DJs and indie artists who are giving the city a one-of-a-kind dose of music. With a number of music festivals being held across the cities and college festivals in full swing, Gujarat is becoming a hotspot for these international artists/bands. YashAgarwal
, a self-confessed fan of independent music, says, “It was great to see the band from Warsaw to include Ahmedabad
in their India tour after going to cities like Delhi and Pune
. It is about time that Amdavadis
also got their share of live performances in terms of independent music.” INDIE ARTISTS
Amdavadi music lovers were recently treated to the music of the Polish band Tides from Nebula. The band from Warsaw, which played at a local café, saw the presence of hundreds of youngsters, who were treated to a healthy dose of rock music. As part of their India tour, members of the band had a “great time” and loved the “energy of the young people” and their interest in “independent music”.
INTERNATIONAL DJs & Musicians
2014 has been a happening year for EDM lovers in the state. From Gareth Emery to Tim Mason, Amdavadis have had a lot to look forward to when it comes to superhit DJs. Romanian musician Edward Maya, who has had over a 100 shows in India, will also be coming to Ahmedabad in December and “can’t wait to meet his fans in the city”.
